Sanso Motors is hiring for the Advanced Controls Development Engineer (ADAS & EV Controls). In this role, you will be responsible for strategizing and implementing software specifically for high-voltage traction motor optimization, auxiliary power distribution, HV safety systems, user interfaces, and the overall development of the vehicle control system.

Control function architecture and advanced control algorithm development. Develop a calibratable software strategy that allows for performance optimization for a diverse customer base without requiring changes to the core software.

Integrate subsystem components such as DC-DC converters, AC-DC bidirectional power inverters, onboard chargers, thermal management systems, battery management systems, and HV safety mechanisms.

Deliver integrated system function and performance using HIL (hardware-in-the-loop) testing, dynamometer testing, and vehicle testing.

Develop and optimize regenerative braking control, power management modes and transitions, and auxiliary power electronics and HV distribution control and optimization.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Strong knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink based plant model development, algorithm and controller design and verification.
  • Product development experience using MATLAB, Simulink, Stateflow, Embedded Coder/RTW and associated control system toolboxes, IBM Rhapsody/Doors/ClearCase, Reactis, CANalyser, CANoe, dSPACE TargetLink, ATI calibration tools, and data collection tools.
  • Knowledge in Model Based Development process including physical/functional architecture, standards and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of MIL, PIL and SIL and automated test environment development.
  • Own EV software features.
  • Integrate software, conduct PIL tests, and debug.
  • Use Matlab scripting for automation.
  • Sensors - camera/ RADAR/ LIDAR/ GPS/ IMU and other associated desirable sensors.
  • C /C++/ embedded C/Python SW design, development/ testing.
  • Operating System - Linux/ QNX/ SYSBIOS/ Vxworks/ Integrity/ ROS, any other POSIX RTOS.
  • Experience in control system design, signal processing, PID loops and dynamic system modeling.
  • Understanding of automotive communication protocols (J1939, CAN, KWP-2000, UDS)
  • Familiarity with DFSS and project management methods/tools.
  • Basic knowledge of Pro/E or other similar solid modeling software.
  • The Controls Systems Owner oversees the Software development of the various systems required for the BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) unit’s integration.
  • Everything from Torque arbitration, eFan control circuits, retarder strategy, diagnostics, interface controllers etc.
  • The candidate will be central to design, testing and validation – taking the Sanso Espérer (BEV) from mature prototype into international Market Launch.
  • Coordinate internal and external groups in the process of control strategy definition and documentation.
  • Champion Design for Six Sigma.
  • Develop complex control strategies using software in the loop, hardware in the loop, and system testing.

Education & Experience Requirement

  • Min. 2-3 years of relevant field experience is ideal.
  • SW development work experience with any of the sensors (like. RADAR, LIDAR, CAMERA, etc) is preferable
  • Experience in ADAS, Autonomous Driving (AD) domain- Algorithms.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Good MS Office & Advanced BI tools skills.

Q. Who issues the work permit?
A. The timeline and results related to the Approval/Rejection of the Work Permit Application is the core decision of the concerned Immigration department of UAE.
Applicant(s) who would be selected/shortlisted for UAE Office of SANSO will be processed for the work permit as per the Govt policies under the sponsorship of SANSO.
